A Philosopher's Christmas

Well, it's 70 degrees, sunny, and a beautiful Christmas Day. No, this isn't some kind of Chicago fantasy or dream. This is Miami. Yup, this life philosopher has gone on vacation (finally!), and I'm down in Miami spending time with a big part of my family. I've been here since the 23rd, but we came in really late that day, and yesterday I was kind of busy with Christmas mass, and dinner. I got up a little while ago, everybody else in the house is still asleep. We're heading over to my grandmother's later for presents (Yay!). So, since it's Christmas, I've got a life philosophy to put out. It's called A Philosopher's Christmas. Hope you enjoy it.

Christmas. Let's not deny it, the thing we really like about Christmas is getting all the presents more than anything else. That's true for most people, not all though. It's also good to give a little as well as receive your presents. You can just the person's face light up when you give it to them, and it's a wonderful feeling that you've made that person happy. Now, I know this probably sounds cliched (and probably is), but it's very true. The reason it's cliched is because it is true. It doesn't matter if it's Chistmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or the combination of the three, Chrismahanakwanzaakah, or something else even. You know something else, let's stop with all this political correctiness with the holidays because I mean, I'm Christian, but I'm fine with you saying Happy Holidays to me if you don't know that I'm Christian, and we should respect all the religions that are celebrated during this time, even if we don't celebrate them. You know what, all you politicans and people arguing over this, most of the American people don't care. In a poll, 90% of Americans said that don't care about all this political correctness and you keep arguing about it. So, here's a suggestion, why don't you all shut your mouths about this idiotic topic, and do something productive, like figure out how to get out of Iraq, or something more important. So, just celebrate Christmas, or Hanukkah, or Kwanzaa, or whatever it is you celebrate, and enjoy the time you have with your family because you don't always have a lot of time. So, to finish up, I'd like to wish everyone a...Merry Christmas...Happy Hanukkah...Happy Kwanzaa, or if you don't celebrate any of those, then all in all, just...Happy Holidays from your friendly neighborhood life philosopher

Merry Christmas.

You get a nice warm sunny Christmas.
We get a white one... mixed with rain and melting snow, but it was snowing.

And the look on people's faces is by far the best part.

Enjoy the weather (and your family).
